I added 4oz of tangerine zest and 20ml of tangerine extract to the final 10 min of the boil. Using tangerine slices on the glass gave it a nice touch. After fermentation was complete, there was no tangerine aroma or flavor in the beer, but it tasted really nice and clean with a hit of citrus. This time, I added 10ml of Tangerine Extract to the final 10 min of the boil. ![]() My guess is that the extract must have killed the yeast that was remaining in solution when they were bottled. In each case, none of the batches fermented in the bottle and all were flat after 2 months. I racked into a 1 gal container, added 5 different amounts of Tangerine Extract then bottled. This batch I bottled when SG was at 1.008 and used a 2/3 cup sugar primer for 5 gal. ![]() 17oz - 0minġ52deg - 60min, Single Infusion, Double Sparge Don’t get me wrong, except for the first batch, the last two batches turned out really good but lacked that tangerine burst.Īll batches have the same grain bill, hops, yeast and mash process.ġoz Peale. Let me start out by letting you all know what I have done in the previous 3 batches. I am on my forth experimental batch but yet to be successful. I need some suggestions from my fellow brewers about how to get that great burst of tangerine aroma and flavor that you get from the Lost Coast Tangerine Wheat beer made by Lost Coast Brewery in Eureka, CA. ![]()

Later, in the mid-1950s, the central figures, with the exception of Burroughs and Carr, ended up together in San Francisco, where they met and became friends of figures associated with the San Francisco Renaissance. The core group of Beat Generation authors- Herbert Huncke, Ginsberg, Burroughs, Lucien Carr, and Kerouac-met in 1944 in and around the Columbia University campus in New York City. The members of the Beat Generation developed a reputation as new bohemian hedonists, who celebrated non-conformity and spontaneous creativity. Both Howl and Naked Lunch were the focus of obscenity trials that ultimately helped to liberalize publishing in the United States. Burroughs' Naked Lunch (1959), and Jack Kerouac's On the Road (1957) are among the best known examples of Beat literature. The central elements of Beat culture are the rejection of standard narrative values, making a spiritual quest, the exploration of American and Eastern religions, the rejection of economic materialism, explicit portrayals of the human condition, experimentation with psychedelic drugs, and sexual liberation and exploration. The bulk of their work was published and popularized by Silent Generationers in the 1950s, better known as Beatniks. The Beat Generation was a literary subculture movement started by a group of authors whose work explored and influenced American culture and politics in the post-war era. So, for me quite literally Jagged Alliance 3 is a dream come true! I am incredibly grateful and humbled to have this opportunity not only because I always wanted to work on a sequel as a developer, but also because for many years I really wanted this game to exist as a fan of the series.Īnd no, I am not telling you what the third game I named on the interview was just yet – I might jinx it! That question turned out oddly prophetic – one of the three was Tropico, a game series that Haemimont Games successfully revived and is famous for right now and another was Jagged Alliance - our most ambitious project yet. When I applied for a game designer position at Haemimont Games way back in 2006 I was asked during my job interview to name any three existing games that I would love to work on if I ever get the chance. The series is very near and dear to my heart.īoian Spasov: There is a story that my colleagues love telling around but it bears repeating. Now having the chance to actually make the third installment of the series is still a bit unbelievable and overwhelming at times. I’ve reached out to Jagged Alliance for inspiration multiple times over the years while working on other projects. I’ve been wanting to try to make a game inspired by Jagged Alliance ever since my junior designer days more than a decade ago. I played it constantly for an entire summer. Question: Let’s start with an easy one – for how long have you wanted to make a Jagged Alliance game?īoyan Ivanov: I’ve been fascinated with Jagged Alliance ever since I chanced upon JA2 in the early 2000s. We are Boian Spasov and Boyan Ivanov, co-creative directors of Jagged Alliance 3 and today we will be talking about our fond memories of Jagged Alliance 1 and Jagged Alliance 2 and the way these memories impacted the development of the sequel! ![]() Hello and welcome to our last DevDiary before release! We thought it would be best to do something special this time, so you are getting not just one one, but two Boi(y)ans interviewed, as we are celebrating our upcoming release by taking a fond retrospective look at the great games that started it all. ![]() |
